Trapper 524 kano til salgsSelger min Trapper 524 Kano for 4500 kr (nypris 12975 SEK).

Out for a walk with AmyToday when I was lying on my sofa, bored to death, my friend Rosa called and asked if I would like to go for a walk with her and her new dog. Yes, I said. It was i while since I last saw her so that was really nice. And for a very qute dog! All black, and only 11 weeks old. Amy is a Russel mix, a lively little thing. We walked for a little more than an hour, until it started to rain. Then Rosa gave me a lift home. I could have walked since it was not far, but it is nice getting lift when it is bad weather out, rain was pouring and I would surely have gotten really wet if I had walked all the way home. Summer vacation 2008My summer vacation June 2008 must be the worst summer vacation I have ever had so far. It started good, I had so many plans, and I really looked forward to it.
This year I have spent to much money on repairs on my car. New breaks, new top, new starter, and since there is no exhaust to buy for my car I had to get one specially made. So my plan was to drive to Trondheim on the 17. of June to meet at the shop at Wednesday the 18th. After that I planned to travel to my long time friend in Sweden, Nina. Since it was a very long time ago I saw her the last time, I was very happy, I felt a longing and happiness I had not felt for a long time. Nina was one of my very best and dearest friends when we were teenagers.
But just a few days before I was going to leave home to Trondheim I got a message from Nina. She said I could not come this summer because she had some family matters she had to take care of. I was crushed. I cried on and off for about 3 hours, until I had to pick my self up, there is no point crying - it doesn't make things better. And now I did not have anyone to spend my vacation together with. All plans crushed, and I had no plan B.
As I had the appointment with the car shop on Wednesday the 18th I started planning what to pack, and how to make the best out of the suddenly lonely summer holiday.
One evening I sat by my computer and chatted with another friend in the area where I live. I know her from work. She said she had vacation next week, actually the same week I was going to Trondheim, and she asked if we could meet? I said I was going to Trondheim, but she was welcome to join if she liked. - Yes, she said, that would be nice! I said I was going for Tondheim at wednesday, but then she replied that she thought it would be nice to move the trip up to Monday. Ok, I said. And since we are two going we can bring my canoo, she got a tent, and so we went on discussing for some minutes.
I used my Saturday and Sunday cleaning the car, and packing for the both of us. I also went shopping for a Trangia field kitchen and a roof rack for my car, so that we could bring the canoo. That was about 2000 NOK. I did put a lot of effort in getting it right so that me and my friend could have a nice holiday together.
I tried to call Maritha several times during the weekend. I thought that if we were going on a holiday trip toghether we should sit down and talk about what we wanted to do, and who should bring what. That is reasonable, don't you think? I got no answer. Sunday night I called again many times, and after many tries she answered. I asked why she did not answer her phone? She said she was invited to a BBQ at Sjøholt Saturday and had left the phone out in the car. But I got a strange message from you Saturday, I said. It said: "Hello, I". That was all, I said. She sounded a bit strange, like she did not know what to answer. But since I got hold of her now I thought we could talk about the trip there and then. But she said she got a proposal for an apartment and wanted to call the seller, and that we could talk later that same evening. Time went and after 21.00 o'clock I called and called again to her mobile. I even went there to see her, but no one were at home. Then and there I started to get angry. I went home. And I did not call her again. I thought that if she was the least interested in coming along on the trip she had to call back her self. I do not care for being treated like that.
Since I personally did not have to leave before Tuesday and she did not call me I desided to leave home on the 17th as planned. I waited for her to call but I did not hear from her at all. I re-packed my car and took out everything that was planned for her, I only kept what I needed for myself. Tuesday 17th at 12 o'clock I left home and was on my way to Trondheim.
I was very sad and upset. First I couldn't go to my friend Nina, then I was treated badly by Maritha. I can not neighter understand how a person can behave like that and treat another person like that, or accept it. She is not much of a friend that Maritha. I will never ask her again.
I drove E39 and got to Trondheim late at night on the 17th. I had been driving for about 7-8 hours and was reasonably tired. I looked for somewhere to camp and found Sandmoen Camping in Heimdal just outside Trondheim. I got a tent lot (150 NOK) and parked my car. I slept in the back of my car, comfortably in spite of what you may believe. I had made a bed in the back and it is just enough room for me to ligh down in full lenght. Got self inflatable mat, sleeping bag, pillows and all.
Next day at 0800 o'clock I was at Svendsen-Eksos Nardo in Trondheim to get my exhaust mounted. First I got lost and drove through Trondheim, so I had to call the shop for directions. Got to talk to a nice man that guided med while on the phone until I got there.
I left my car with Svendsen Eksos Nardo and left for a trip to Trondheim city to explore it. I was lucky, it is the same company as I work with that drives the busses in Trondheim, so I travelled with the bus for free.
Trondheim is a very buissy town. If I would live there I would surtainly no take the car to city, but would take the bus. It is a pain driving there.
Walking in Trondheim I first went strawling around a bit to get to know the town. I found a park and a cafe'. I was hungry and longed for breakfast. I bought coffee and a sandwich.
After that I went to Old town, or rather, I came there by mistake. I did not plan it. It was sunny and raining on and off. So it was good I brought the embrella. "Photo-natic" as I am I could not keep on walking with out taking pictures. I like keeping pictures for memory.
In Old town there is the old bridge, old buildings, church a.s.
I went on to Nidaros Church and surroundings.
At this time (1300 o' clock) Svendsen Eksos Nardo called and said my car was almost ready, so I wanted I could come and pick it up. That suited me just fine. My feet hurt, and I was starving after all the walking for several hours. I had been walking from 0800 - 1300 o' clock. So, happy I took the bus back to Nardo.
I paid the shop appr. 5700 NOK for the exhaust and asked the man behind the counter how the get to Kristiansten Fortress? Got the directions on the map and went. It was not far and easy to get there.
Kristiansten Fortress was planned by Casper von Cicignon with Anthony Coucheron in 1682. Before that in 1564 and 1658 it was the Swedes that used the hill for gunnery and was later on known as "the Swedish hill" (in the old days Norway was a part of Sweden and Denmark). The hill dominated the city and it was decided in 1681 that it was to be used for the defence of Trondheim.
So what is so bad about this trip you may wonder? Well so far so good...
Exsited about everything I thought I was going to Hell. I had been thinking about that for a long time. Hell is a little place North of Trondheim, not the hell you might have thought of.
Hell is not very big. I drove along the main road and there were not much to see. Sadly. But the river was nice, and they got a small and nice shopping mall.
From here It was about 44 km to my friend Nina. So I called again to ask if she had gotten her personal matters in order? No she said, and now we are also sick the lot of us, she said. + 40 C fever. I just concluded that I did not want to get the same bug, so we hang up.
Bored I thought of what to do next. And as I have always wanted to travel to Northern Norway I started driving there. But after a while I thought of how much money I got left. Diesel is very expensive in Norway, about 14 NOK a liter, and it is very far to the North Cape. At the photo below you can see the price of diesel, just a few minutes befofe it was over 14 NOK a liter. This was in Hell.
Since I had spend a lot of money on my exhaust I desided it probably was the best thing to turn and drive home. I am not a vealthy person, and have had to use some credit to pay for all the repairs. And I will have to pay the down-payments on that credit for the rest of the year, and probably next year too.
But I did not want to spoil the whole vacation, so I decided to use the road home to find nice spots and places along the road to visit.
I slept on the same camping outside Trondheim and drove first road 714 and then road 608 to Kristiansund the day after.
I went on road 714 and took a left at Våvatnet.
A long this road I found a small well hidden treasure, Skorild. (There were some uglyness to but I did not photograph that.)
Then at road 608 I got to Hemne. Hemne is rather big and got many small towns and beautiful nature.
At Ness in Hemne I made myself dinner.
Dinner with a view
I passed Kyrksæterøra in Southern-Trøndelag on road 608 and headed for Møre and Romsdal county. On my way over the mountain I spotted marvelous views and lakes. Nice places to padle a canoo in, I thought to my self. I stopped and took a photo.
And then on my way up to the break between Southern-Trøndelag and Møre and Romsdal it happend. Two whole weeks left of the vacation.
POOFFF!
I looked out the rear window of my car and saw a damp like smoke. I drove to the 20 mtr to the top and thought I'd better stop and check this. I got out.
From the cars hood there came damp. OH, NO, WHAT NOW! I thought and opened the hood.
And then I saw all the cooling fluids pouring out under the car. And the cooler fan was broken.
A range of feelings rushed through my mind.
I had to call my old friend NAF. Dialed and asked for road assistans. 30 minutes later a man called Lars came with the truck and drove me and my car back to Kyrksæterøra where I just came from. The car was parked outside the garage, and since this happened after closing hour I had to wait until next morning. I slept in the car in the parking lot. After having used so much money on exhaust and other parts during this year I could not afford hotel.
But at least I had a nice river to look at from my rear window.
Next morning at 8 o' clock I nocked at the garage office door and talked to the man behind the counter. He said he had been told by Lars about my misfortune and said they will order for parts emediately. I went to Shell Gas station to get some breakfast. I bought coffee and 3 sandwishes. This was going to be my breakfast for the next coming 6 days. At the garage they told me that they would get the delivery next Thursday, one week from the damage. They managed to get the radiator and the cooling fan, but the protecting shield-cover was not able to get anywhere. But he said I could do without it just as well. So that is fine.
My car was going to be my hotel on a parking lot for the next 6 days. I had to find something to do for 6 days in i small town where I did not know a single soul.
I had to have something to do so I went for a walk. I followed a road and came to a camping by the fjord. A beautiful spot.
I went down to the bridge at the camping and here I met a woman that turned out to be from Sweden. As I am Swedish my self I presented my self and we talked for hours. She was really nice company. Later on her husband and he's colluege turned up. They worked in the local Ambulance service. Both Marie, her husband and I tried to teach their son how to fish in Norway. There are some differenses and tricks of the trade that is nice to know to succed
After that back to the car, cooked me some dinner from a can on my field kitchen and went to sleep.
Next morning I had my coffee and three sandwish breakfast at Shell and went for a walk, bought a newspaper and later on a book. Here is some pictures from Kyrksæterøra.
I had my dinner at Bårres BBQ and Grill and then went back to my "home" in the parking lot.
The nights was rather cold, some about + 6 C. I woke up several times cause it was raining out and was cold and my nose was freezing cold. After about 3 days the cashier at the Shell station asked me if it is cold out in the car at night? Yes, I said. And then she said, My husband and I talked about that when it was 6 degrees out tonight and wonder if you would like to borrow a coupe warmer? Yes, thank you ma'm, I said. Later that day she told me her husband had put a cable and coupe warmer by my car. The following nights I could start the warmer when the temperature dropped.
The following day I was in a great need of a shower. I felt like my hair was as fat as a bbq. I asked at the Shell station if there was a swimming hall or such where I could take a shower? That one is closed at daytime, she said. But you can walk to the marina and use the shower there. Just put 10 NOK in the machine and you can shower. So I went there. 20 NOK it cost me, but man was it worth it! WONDERFUL! I felt fresh and nice again. Time for a new strawl around town, and dinner at the china restaurant. I was sick of fattening BBQ and fries, I had had that for three days in a row. I longed for something vegy and fresh.
I read three books in three days (By Erica Spindler: Last known victim, by Unni Lindell: Honningfellen and by Karin Fossum: Den som elsker noe annet) and on the fourth day I started on John Knowles book The french lieutenant's woman. The days went on reading, walking, having breakfast at Shell and dinner at BBQ and the local China.
So finally, Thursday came, and at 10 o'clock one of the garage employee's knocked at my door. The parts had arrived and they were going to fix my car!
YIPPIEEE!!!!!
At 12 he was finished and took it out for a test drive. All well. I talked to him and he concluded that some former owner of the car had tried to repair the cooler fan by trying to melt/glue the fans prop. blades together, the prop. blades loosened cause of a poor job and that that was the reason for my radiator got punktured. And that if that person had not done that, and instead had bought a new fan, I would not have had that accident on the mountain, and I would not have had to pay 6700 NOK for new parts and repairs. What can i say? I got really angry with "that person".
I paid, said my thanks and good byes and started on my trip home. In my mind I thought to my self. Up that mountain again. And when I passed that unlucky spot where the fan punktured my radiator, I felt a nervous feeling like I was scared for a new accident and re-living the moment.
Well, I got over the break between the countys on the top of the mountain. And over the break I got this view.
Nice, yes? I think so.
On top of all my camera broke. The monitor on the camera broke so I can not see to adjust the settings. I can take photos, but I am never sure of if the settings are ok and if the photograph will get sharp and nice. But repairs have to wait, I can not afford it just now. Discuraged by the bad happenings the week before I felt it was best to drive home as fast as possible. I was sick and tired of living in the car by know and of unpleasent happenings. But at the same time I felt I deserverd some nice time and chose the outer road along the coast. This road goes over Aure, Atlantic Road and Kristiansund.
Well, now I am home. Safe and sound. And I hope for a better vacation next year and hopefully company.
Home it is bad weather, a bit cold, not more than + 12 C (53,6 F). So I think I will stay home. No sunbathing for me.
